7 Volume Secrets for XXL Curls
Are you tired of flat, lifeless curls? Don't worry, we've got you covered! Today I'm sharing 7 game-changing tips to help you achieve big, bouncy curls.
This blog was inspired by the fact that Curl Keeper's NEW Big Energy Volume line just launched. I had the privilege to try it, and it exceeded my expectations!
LET'S GET INTO IT:
1. Dry Shampoo Magic
Dry shampoo is a must-have for anyone with curly hair. Use it between washes to absorb excess oil and add volume. You can also use it on wash days to eliminate excess shine at the roots.
2. Hairspray Hero
Hairspray is a versatile styling tool that can be used to add volume and hold to your curls. One of our favorite techniques is to spray our roots while upside down, diffuse, and then flip our hair back over.
3. Damp Styling
While I typically recommend styling on soaking wet hair, styling on slightly damp hair can actually boost volume. Just be prepared for some frizz!
4. Messy Diffusing
Forget about stiff, robotic diffusing! The key to volume is to diffuse messily. Cup your hair and shake it at the roots to encourage lift and faster drying time.
5. Rinse Conditioner Thoroughly (or Skip It)
To maximize volume, make sure to rinse all the conditioner out of your hair. You can even consider skipping conditioner altogether, especially if you have fine or low-density hair.
6. Rake and Scrunch (No Brush Styling)
Brush styling can define curls and reduce frizz, but it can also flatten them. Instead, opt for raking and scrunching your products in with your hands.
7. Double Cleanse
Shampooing your hair twice is a great way to remove buildup and excess oil, which can weigh your hair down. We recommend using a clarifying shampoo like Curl Keeper Big Energy Volumizing Shampoo. This shampoo is formulated with Himalayan Crystal Salt to absorb excess moisture and leave your hair feeling stronger and fuller. Use code CURLSMONTHLY20 ( for 20% OFF 12oz Big Energy Shampoo + Conditioner)
By following these tips and incorporating the right products into your routine, you can achieve the voluminous curls you've always dreamed of.
Until next time! xo Barbie Delle
