Before Curls Monthly existed, Barbie spent 2020 to 2022 working directly with curly girls through 1:1 coaching, helping women untangle years of bad advice and finally understand their own hair. That hands-on work taught her something most hair brands never learn: the problem isn't a lack of products. It's a lack of guidance.
In late 2022, Barbie launched Curls Monthly to solve that exact problem at scale. What started as a subscription box has grown into a full curly hair education platform serving thousands of subscribers, pairing curated products with the coaching and know-how to actually use them.
Barbie built Curls Monthly to be the friend who finally explains your hair type instead of just selling you another product to add to the pile, and that mission is exactly what's driving the next evolution of the brand.

Can I customize my monthly products?
Yes! Each month, you get five total products. Three are customizable, and two are mystery items.
Every month, you'll get recommended products for your hair type based on the hair finish quiz that you take before you check out. From there, you can customize the three items as you see fit.

What size products do you send?
The subscription includes both trial size and full size options. Some brands do not make travel sizes, and vice versa so the sizing is based on the brand's product availability.
The photos of the products you see when you choose the products are they exact size you will be receiving. The ounces are also listed on the product description!
When will I get my first mailer?
All new subscription orders will be fulfilled within 3-5 business days.
Recurring subscription orders will be billed on the 1st of the month and fulfilled between the 2nd and 3rd week of each month thereafter.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel anytime!
If you choose to cancel your Curls Monthly subscription, you may do so at any time by the second to last day of the month to end services immediately.

If you do not unsubscribe by the second to last day of the month, you will be charged and receive the next mailer and will not receive any mailers or be debited after that.
If you're a Yearly or Quarterly subscriber- Once you purchase a pre-paid subscription plan you can cancel at anytime but we cannot offer you a refund for the boxes you already purchased. You will receive those boxes as planned and will not be charged or sent mailers after the subscription type you paid for has expired.
To cancel, login to your customer portal and scroll to the "Quick Links" area. Click "Manage Subscription". Then scroll to the bottom of the page and hit "Cancel Subscription".
Where do you ship to?
We ship within the USA only.
How often / when will I be charged for my subscription?
MONTHLY SUBSCRIBERS will be charged for your first month upon signing up, then on the first day of next month + every month ongoing for monthly subscriptions.
YEARLY SUBSCRIBERS will be charged the full price for the year upon signing up, then charged again on an annual basis.
QUARTERLY SUBSCRIBERS will be charged for your first quarter upon signing up, then charged again every 3 months.
